Services

New Patient Evaluations:

Dr. Yoffe conducts comprehensive evaluations for children who present for a variety of developmental and behavioral concerns. The evaluation process is tailored to your child's specific needs and circumstances but typically includes:

  • A virtual consultation with you to discuss your concerns and obtain detailed information about your child's medical and developmental history. You may also be asked to participate in a formal, structured caregiver interview (ADI-R, Autism Diagnostic Interview) as part of the diagnostic process.

  • Review of information gathered from teachers/therapists/etc and any previous evaluation/testing reports.

  • Direct assessment/evaluation of your child over one or two sessions. The type of testing and number of visits depends on your concerns and your child's unique presentation.  An ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale) will be included in the evaluation if appropriate for your child's specific case.

  • Wrap-up meeting to discuss the results of the evaluation, including diagnoses and recommendations. This may be conducted virtually or in-person depending on your preference.

A detailed written report is provided upon completion of the evaluation process.

Please note that while an evaluation may identify a concern for learning disabilities or intellectual disability, formal cognitive (IQ) testing and formal psychyoeducational testing for learning disabilities is not offered. If such testing is recommended, Dr. Yoffe will assist you with navigating this process.

Dr. Yoffe also accepts new patients seeking medication management who have received their evaluation/diagnosis elsewhere. However, please note that Dr. Yoffe may need to conduct additional testing/evaluations in order to ensure your child receives the most appropriate treatment plan.

Follow-up visits:

Follow-up visits are offered to patients whose families have elected to pursue medication treatment, when ongoing monitoring is felt to be in the child's best interest or should new concerns arise. The frequency of these visits will depend on your child's specific needs.
